Archeology

Items of Archeological interest exist in the area and 4 sites are listed in the Florida Master Site File.  Two of these sites are from the Weeden Island Period (Black Creek Mound #8WL67, ca. A.D. 450 to 1000 and East Trib 1, #8WL839).  One is the Eavans Mill site, (#8WL1311, ca. A.D. 1821), which contains a historic home site and a mill that dates to the 19th. century and the other is listed as #8WL1316, Black Creek #29, described as a prehistoric habitation site.
